Save The Mid are frustrated at the current sacking of Chairman Jim Stewart of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust. This is just another in a series of decisions made by the Governance of the NHSCT and DHSSPS that will cause further disruption and crisis.
There is a crisis within the Northern Trust, Save The Mid will still maintain communication with the Health minister to try and stop any further changes taking part in the Northern trust until such time that remaining services are made safe and stable.
Transforming Your Care consultation ends on the 15th Jan 2013 and more changes will be brought into the Northern Trust, these changes will lower the capacity of acute services within the trust. A decision that is made by the Health Minster, John Compton CEO Health & Social Care Board and Sean Donaghy CEO of the Northern Health & Social Care Trust.
Jim Stewart would not of stood in the way of reopening the Mid Ulster hospital, Edwin Poots will and has. The health Minster has already stated in the Assembly that its was a mistake to shut acute services at the Mid Ulster site, yet did not try fix this mistake.
CEO of the Northern Trust Sean Donaghy has also stated that the Mid Ulster was a crisis closure, the crisis can be proved to be at Antrim, the reason the crisis has got worse is fully due to the fact that the internal capacity is not large enough to cope with shutting the Mid Ulster Hospital.
Save The Mid fully believes that brothers Sean and Colm Donaghy should be held fully accountable for the Crisis within the Northern Trust as they were the residing CEO's during the crisis.
A full statement will be issued next week.
