Developing Better Services, the Health Care Strategy from 2001, brought forward by former Health Minister Bairbie De Brun.
When we look at previous health strategies, service changes and polices that the health service has been subjected to, what we are seeing today is no surprise. Since 1998 there have been 2 overall strategies, 1 created under Sinn Fein’s Barbrie De Brun in 1999 the other created under the DUP’s Edwin Poots in 2011.

Royal Victoria Hospital Showed Warning Signs That It's A&E Was Failing in Nov 2013, A Full 2 Months Before A Crisis Was announced
Northern Ireland A&E's have been failing since 2010. This failure has led to compromises in patients safety and ultimately this has led to the death of some patients who otherwise might have been saved had our politicians and health managers actually acted in the name of patient safety.
The South Eastern Trust confirmed on Monday that A&E hours at the Downe Hospital in Downpatrick and Lagan Valley Hospital in Lisburn will be cut from 4 January.
A statement said: "Both emergency departments will be closed on Saturday and Sunday until further notice and will operate from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
