Save The Mid
The Health Committee Research Papers regarding the removal of Belfast City A&E are not factually correct, how can objective decisions be made by the Health Committee when they are being dis informed by the Assembly's Research Teams.
Save The Mid have been researching several publications for the current review into Health & Social Care, in this research we have looked at a research report that was submitted to the Health Committee in August 2011 that is incorrect,

Belfast City Hospital A&E

This document was released in August 2011 regarding the removal of acute services at Belfast City A&E, it states mileage from Constituencies to Type 1 & 2 A&E's, it states Mid Ulster residents are on average within 7.32 miles from an acute A&E, I would challenge this. Also the report states that the longest distance for a resident from Mid Ulster to an acute A&E is 17.97 miles, again I would challenge this statement,
If I travel the most direct road from Moneymore to my nearest Acute A&E I will take the A31 and A6 24.2 miles, taking approx 39 minutes. This is using google maps travel, google maps have been used in the past by Health Trusts and Boards.
Save The Mid have already met with Health Committee member Pam Lewis where this was brought to her attention, like wise it was sent to the clerk of the Health Committee & all Committee members, with John McAlistar and Samuel Gardener both seeking to meet Save The Mid regrading Health Issues.
