C-diff is a bacterial infection that can affect the digestive system. It most commonly affects people who are staying in hospital, causing diarrhoea, a high temperature and sometimes life threatening complications. An Audit Office report on hospital acquired infections states the maximum bed occupancy should not exceed 82%.
