The amount of patients left waiting in A&E between 12-24 hours increase from 11 in August 2013 to 72 by Dec 2103. These warning signs were ignored and no extra measures were brought into the Royal A&E to meet this growing problem.
Worse still Nov & Dec 2013 seen 10 patients wait over 24 hours in A&E, again no measures were brought in to combat this performance until late Jan 2014.
We are still not being told the truth about the state of the acute care system in Northern Ireland and by no means is this problem isolated to the Royal with Antrim, Craigavon and other hospitals seeing likewise performances.
