Other immediate issues concerning the minor injury unit will also be discussed:
- For the trust to postal drop every household in the Mid Ulster area informing residential of what exactly can be treated in the Minor Injury Unit
- For opening hours of the Minor injury unit the be extended, along with the possibility of Weekends and bank holidays
- For the Trust to engage with Mid Ulster sporting organisations and organisations that treat sporting injures to ensue that the Minor Injury unit is fully utilized in sports injuries.
All of the above will aid in lowering the attendance at Antrim A&E, it has well been established that Antrim could no cope with closing Mid Ulster A&E, now even with Antrim gaining its new build A&E it will still not be able to meet the demand placed upon it.
